Exploring Masculinity through Queerness Symposium

  • Something Positive For Positive People United States (map)

Date: Monday, June 23, 2025
Time: 7:30–9:30pm CST
Location: Virtual (Zoom)
Hosted by: Courtney Brame | Something Positive for Positive People

Join us for a timely, intimate symposium centering conversations with Black men navigating the intersection of masculinity and queerness. This event lives at the crossroads of Pride Month and Men’s Mental Health Month, and brings together two movements that often run parallel—but rarely intersect in public dialogue.

This space isn’t about performance or debate. It’s about presence.
Together, we’ll reflect on how masculinity is shaped, challenged, and expanded by queerness—and how queer education, relationships, and community have impacted how we show up as Black men.

What to Expect

  • Three grounded conversations with Black men with varied lived experiences

  • Space for reflection, presence, and curiosity—not performance

  • A commitment to vulnerability, consent, and mutual respect

  • Temporary replay access for those who RSVP

  • Opportunity to support collective healing through donation

Donation-Based Entry

This event is RSVP-based and donation-supported.
60% of donations will go toward two aligned organizations:

  • The Youth Sexpert Program – supporting queer youth education in NYC

  • Free Peace – a wellness initiative supporting men’s mental health
