YOGA THERAPY FOR HERPES STIGMA & EMOTIONAL WELLNESS
REGULATE YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM.
rECONNECT WITH YOUR SELF.
WhAT IS YOGA THERAPY?
The International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), says that Yoga Therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of teachings and practices of yoga.
At Something Positive for Positive People, yoga therapy is offered as a one-on-one support option for people navigating herpes stigma—from an inside out perspective. Oftentimes people reach out to learn to engage with others and communicate about their status, which is an important part of learning to navigate the stigma of a herpes diagnosis, but many need a more intimate approach that stifles the limitations of stigma at the core—internally.
Why Yoga Therapy for Herpes?
Yoga not only helps boost immunity to physically combat the herpes virus, the emotional effects that yoga has on a person’s nervous system can help deal with what is sometimes considered to be more troublesome—the shame that comes with it. In transforming your relationship with herpes stigma, you can learn to identify imbalances not only in the body, but the mind, emotions, and spirit—where our challenges with outbreaks, beliefs, and behaviors begin.
Applying tools from yoga will help you to gently return to a stable baseline. With a regulated nervous system, it becomes easier to minimize herpes outbreaks, recognize misaligned relationships or behaviors, and move with clarity and confidence again.
