SPFPP 372: Shaking the Dust Off
In this episode, I’m knocking the dust off and getting back into rhythm with podcasting. I had a real conversation with Amber, one of my board members, while we were driving from San Antonio to Houston. We talk about stigma—how it can show up in the lives of Black women, in academia, in the public health space, and in the assumptions people make about folks who are homeless or in transition, like I am right now after the tornado in St. Louis took my lil’ home.
This isn’t a super polished interview. It’s two people talking, reflecting, and just holding space for the messy, real parts of life—identity, race, resilience, and what it means to stay grounded when everything feels unstable.
