Women’s Herpes Support Group
Healing Through Connection and Support

We understand that the emotional experience of living with herpes can feel especially heavy when you're also navigating stigma related to being a woman. That’s why Something Positive for Positive People (SPFPP) partners with professionals like Drew Rabidoux, LCSW to offer dedicated herpes support spaces for women.

Since 2017, SPFPP has been a hub for herpes stigma healing. Over the years, we’ve expanded to hold space for people navigating all kinds of identity-based stigma—not just those with a herpes diagnosis. While we don’t currently offer a women-only support group led by us, we’re proud to refer you to spaces that do, and we invite you to check out our general stigma support group or our monthly men’s groups if you’re looking for a presence-led space to just be seen.

Meet Drew Rabidoux, LCSW
Herpes Support for Women with a New or Recent Diagnosis

Drew is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked in the STI field for over 20 years. She’s supported women through the emotional impact of herpes diagnoses in hospitals, clinics, and now in her private practice. Drew is skilled in EMDR, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and psychoeducation—and she leads an intentional 12-week herpes support group for women newly diagnosed or processing a recent diagnosis.

This group isn’t therapy—it’s a space to learn, connect, and talk about the daily realities of herpes:

  • Managing shame and difficult emotions

  • Disclosing with more clarity and confidence

  • Building real connection in a non-judgmental space

Group Details:

  • Virtual or In-person (Rochester, NY)

  • $35 per session

  • 12 total sessions

  • Contact: [Link or contact info you provide for Drew]

Drew’s group is ideal if you’re looking for a women-led space held by someone with extensive experience in both herpes stigma and emotional processing.

Looking for a Non-Gendered Space?
While we currently don’t host a dedicated women’s group at SPFPP, we do offer:

These groups are rooted in the same SPFPP mission: to hold space for people navigating stigma in all its forms—from herpes to mental health to identity.
