“Life is about what happens through you not to you.” - Courtney Brame

Courtney Brame is a passionate advocate and educator within the herpes community. As the founder of Something Positive for Positive People (SPFPP), he has dedicated his efforts to destigmatizing herpes and supporting individuals living with the virus. Through SPFPP, Courtney connects people with the resources they need to manage their health and navigate the social challenges associated with herpes. He also works closely with health professionals, providing training and insights to help them better understand and address herpes stigma in clinical settings. Courtney's mission is to create a world where people living with herpes feel supported, informed, and empowered.

Diagnosed with genital herpes himself in 2013, he spent the first 4 years figuring out what this shift in identity meant as a Black Man living with herpes. It was in 2017 that after finding support groups online where people shared that they had struggled with suicide ideation that he began to find himself in service to this community just aiming to highlight peoples’ experiences to give those newly diagnosed with HSV 1 or HSV 2 a road map to deal with the mental and emotional impacts of living and dating with herpes. Courtney has become an inspiration offering everyday people the space to safely share their stories with the intention of being a help to others who may have a similar story.

If you're looking for a supportive space to discuss your herpes diagnosis, I'm here to help. You can reach out to me for a confidential, donation-based support call, where we can explore your feelings and find the resources you need to move forward with confidence.
